Hi Ryan,

Lots more nice photos to comment on. :) Rain, mud, mosquitoes, and slugs ... just a few of my favorite things. On the other hand ... that first reddish mushroom is a Boletus and I was going to tell you that I think that all boletes are edible but then the book says that this one, Frost's Boletus is "not recommended." So that's why I don't give any "muchroom edibility advice." The yellow one is surely some kind of chantarelle, probably the Smooth Chantarelle but possiblly a Scaly Chantarelle, which is poisonous. So ...

More nice Indian Pipes. The second shot is one of them in the fruiting stage. You also have two shots of Spotted Wintergreen which is a close relative of Indian Pipes. It has the basal leaves with conspicuous white venation.

Nice bulls. Looks like India.

Hope the sun shines the rest of the way. Your low boots and book are currently "drying out" on our deck.

Look forward to seeing the rest of your shots.

Dad

So how do your feet handle the constant wetness without blistering to pieces?

When you're finished with the AT, do you have any desire to do the Pacific Crest trail or Continental Divide trail (assuming it ever gets completed)?

All the best,
Chris
