Only a couple of things to identify this time. The black and white moth is one of the Tiger Moths ... probably a Virgin Tiger Moth (that is its name ... not necessarily its reproductive condition). Julie is right, of course, about the Indian Pipes. Closely related to azaleas and rhododendron, interestingly enough.
With a lot of effort, your Mother posted a note for you. However, it accidentally got posted after the May 9 blog! She has expended all her technology-energy for the day (maybe the whole week?), so it will remain on May 9. It has Jan-Erik's new phone number. He is trying to work out a contact with you. BTW, the note is there only because we are having trouble getting through to your email box.
you went to the dino kingdom and foam henge! 2 of my most favorite places...i love the what if story with the dinosaurs and the civil war...and also all that styrofoam :) I hope your hike is going fantastically!

Hey Ryan,
If you have the time, I'd love to see your flan recipe. I'm thinking that it may come in handy on hut trips.
As always, I enjoy reading your postings. Thanks for sharing them.
It appears you have company on the trail now:
